According to the agreement, the two companies are collaborating to build a 5.2 million square meter refinery in the coastal city of Yanbu in western Saudi Arabia, processing 400000 barrels of heavy oil per day. It is expected to be put into operation in the second half of 2014, with a total investment of nearly 10 billion US dollars. Saudi Aramco will hold 62.5% of the shares, while Sinopec will hold the remaining shares. This will be the first overseas refinery built by Sinopec
