CCTV Focus | Shandong Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station officially put into operation for power generation
On October 31st, with the completion of the trial operation of Unit 2, the first batch of Units 1 and 2 of Shandong Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station constructed by China Energy Construction Gezhouba Group were officially connected to the grid for power generation, adding 600000 kilowatts of high-quality peak shaving capacity to the Shandong power grid and adding new momentum to help win the battle for power supply guarantee. CCTV's "News 30" column reported.
At present, it is a critical period for the national power supply guarantee. Yimeng pumped storage power station has officially been connected to the grid and put into operation, participating in the power grid protection work, fully exerting its functions such as peak shaving, energy storage, and peak output, providing strong guarantees for the safe operation and reliable power supply of Shandong power grid. This is also an important measure for Gezhouba Group to deeply implement the national strategy, actively serve the "carbon peak, carbon neutrality" and help achieve the "3060" goal.
According to the plan, in June 2022, all four units of Yimeng Pumped Storage Power Station will be put into operation for power generation. By then, 88200 tons of standard coal will be saved, 296700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 2000 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions will be reduced each year, which will play a positive role in enhancing the power grid regulation capacity, helping energy transformation and achieving the goal of carbon peak carbon neutrality.
