In February, the steel plant resumed production and the procurement of waste stainless steel increased slightly

According to statistics, the procurement volume of waste stainless steel from 28 steel mills in China in January 2023 was 596000 tons, an increase of 10.1% compared to the previous month. Among them, 200 series 171000 tons, 300 series 323000 tons, and 400 series 48000 tons;

The new sample shows that the procurement volume of waste stainless steel from 35 steel mills in China is 631000 tons, including 225000 tons from 200 series, an increase of 31.4% month on month; 300 Series 35.9, a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous month; 400 series 48000 tons, a decrease of 13% compared to the previous month.

In February, the steel plant resumed production, with some purchases made in advance and remaining inventory, resulting in a relatively small increase in procurement volume, mainly in the 200 series.
